It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

I put my tree on Sunday!! I can't believe my homemade ornaments (dried orange slices and gingerbread snowflakes) survived this past year! I packed them away, but was sure they would turn moldy. A few snowflakes got broken, but other than that....

I think it looks nice!

I got this Christmas quiz from Jana today, so instead of forwarding it to everyone, I'm going to post it here...

Christmas 2006

Welcome to the 2006 Holiday Edition of Getting to Know Your Friends! You know
the drill. Highlight, copy, and paste (not forward) and change my answers to
your answers. Be sure to send back to me. Enjoy!!

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? hot chocolate! I hate egg nog! Ick!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? My parents used to ask me every year if I wanted them to tell Santa to wrap the presents or not. It was different every year. I'm sure they appreciated the years where Santa didn't have to wrap.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Color when I was a kiddo, I'm liking white now.
4. Do you hang mistletoe? never have.
5. When do you put your decorations up? Usually a few weeks before Xmas, but put up mine this past Sunday.
6 What is your favourite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Turkey for shizzle!
7. Favourite Holiday memory as a child: getting my cricket doll (I still have her!)
8. When and how did you learn the truth aboout santa? When I found our presents hiding under the stairs. Sure, I was looking for presents....lol. I don't remember actually asking about him or being sad that my parents played Santa. Deep down I still believe in Him though. Christmas is magical.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? I get to open gifts from Jana (not this year though, b/c she's in Ottawa), I also open up my present from my grandparents (on my dad's side) after Church on Christmas Eve.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? lights first, then ribbon, then ornaments.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love falling snowflakes. Hate the cold, the nasty storms, and the slop on the roads.
12. Do you remember your favourite gift? My NKOTB sleeping bag!!! I wore that sucker out!
13. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Christmas eve is a big favorite of mine. Usually our tradition is to go shopping (crazy, I know! but so fun). Getting home, wrapping last minute gifts, getting ready. Heading to Jana's place to open presents, then back to my grandparents place where we eat some goodies, and after church we all open presents. The past few years I have been leaving my grandparents really late, then heading to Jamie's sisters place where they open presents, then we spend the night at Jamie's mom's house and he opens his presents there the next day. Then we head to my parents place to open gifts there. Crazy busy. So yea, Christmas Eve is a cool day. This year I have to work in a new routine because Jamie and I don't want to spend Xmas eve apart, so somehow I have to work in going to Church with his family and heading to his mom's place so she can open presents, PLUS all of the other regular stuff!! Yikes.
14. What is your favourite Holiday Dessert? Triffle
15. What is your favourite holiday tradition? xmas eve.
16. What tops your tree? a gold star.
17. Which do you prefer giving or Receiving? Giving. Love seeing people's reaction to their gift.
18. What is your favourite Christmas Song? Feliz Navidad
19. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Yum!
