Deck of you...

Finally getting going on the little art journal I am making. I think I mentioned it before, the art journal that Emily Falconbridge started. Every week she will give a prompt for one page of the journal. For a funky twist, the 'pages' are actually cards. One deck of cards=52 pages=52 challenges in one year. So, at the end of the year I will have a little deck of me!

Check out her blog for more info... http://embers.typepad.com

Here is my little deck holder and the first four pages of my deck.

wk 1: something you are proud of

wk 2: what is powerful to you

wk 3: i am

wk 4: a symbol you love

That's about it for now, but I promise to update this thing more often!! I'm getting like 80 hits a day, so finally you guys will have something to read!

Tomorrow is THE DAY!!!!

This little man and his mama are coming home to visit for TWO WEEKS!!!

Can't wait to see Amy again and to meet Hudson!!

One little word....

to live by.

I'm taking Ali's challenge.

http://aliedwards.typepad.com/_a_/2007/01/aezine_challeng.html

"This week your challenge is to create something, anything, that celebrates your chosen word for 2007. Maybe a layout. Maybe a blog posting or a journal entry or a simple post-it note that you put somewhere you can see it each day. Make sure to journal about why you chose your word and what it means for you - the more you let yourself explore the more benefit you will receive in the end."

I didn't make any New Years Resolutions this year, Ali's challenge has me changing my mind. I thought a lot today about this and picking a word. I want to pick something that will be my motto for 2007.

Stay tuned for my word and for this part of the challenge..."Make sure to journal about why you chose your word and what it means for you - the more you let yourself explore the more benefit you will receive in the end."

getting back into the groove...

I can't remember the last time I scrapbooked or did anything creative. I barely entered my scrapbook room in months, just going in there to tidy up, stare at my supplies, or wish I had ink for my printer so I could print out some pictures.

No creative flow whatsoever.

Tonight, I went in there, and in an hour I created a miniBook.

So cool. It feels good to get back in the groove! I am totally feeling it once again.

I'd post a picture of the miniBook, but it's a gift, so I don't want to spoil it!

Keeping with this cool creative flow I am going to join Emily in her 'Deck of You" challenge. The concept is to get a deck of cards and alter one card a week, one for every week of the year. She will be giving a prompt on her blog every Sunday. Using the prompt use one of the cards as your little art journal. She also created this funky fabric pouch to hold all of her cards. For the first week, the prompt is "something you are proud of...".

Pretty cool concept, I'm excited to join in. Check out her blog if you want to see her examples....
