my new twenties

30th bd gift from my bf jana

after a month of sickness, work schedules and snow storms a few of my closets friends/family were able to go out to dinner to celebrate my thirtieth birthday.

after all of my reflections about getting OLDER and all that superficial jazz it was nice to sit down, relax and not actually think about that fact that i'm 30.

i got to think about how much i love to see my friends, and drink, and eat (and not count calories) and celebrate...to laugh and giggle and be crazy.

to act like we are 20 or laugh about when we were 20 and how we are glad we are not 20 anymore...

it was fun...and definitely time that this mama got to have a little social life (even if i didn't get to shake my booty on the dance floor)

to top it off i got way spoiled with gifts....i mean WAY SPOILED.

gift highlights include, well the gift at the top of this post. a bracelet i showed jana in passing when we were looking online one day. one that i would surely never purchase for herself.

but something she remembered and new how special it was.

i'm so in love...i can't stop staring at it.

this was the post i wanted to do today

my outfit was really cute

felt great all day

jamie (the hubs) even commented i should wear it again tomorrow (ha!)

so i wanted to post a picture and all that jazz....

but, it being a canadian winter and all, i have to bring my cute shoes to work and wear yucky winter boots...

so, then i forgot my cute shoes at work when i changed...

and then my hair wasn't cooperating, so i don't have a picture.

but trust me: i looked cute today

outfit: grey pencil skirt with a white/grey pinstripe ruffle blouse, black tights and the shoes posted below.

how short is too short??

first of all, how awesome are these shoes?

now, how short is too short for work?

my job as an office manager is pretty casual

i could basically wear lululemon all day and get away with it.

however, i (sometimes) prefer to look cute

i bought this dress (online) and didn't check the length..so it's a little shorter than what i am used to wearing at work.

but is it too short??

obviously it will ride up while i'm sitting, and bending down will have to be done uber carefully.....

does that fact that i'm asking if it's too short make it cross the line into too short wear?

could i say 'too short' anymore times???

so...thoughts?

a quick shot of (half) my outfit for today.

i love this 3/4 length sleeve, cropped, light pink cardi that i picked up two weeks ago at urban planet

the lace detailing at the back adds the right amount of femininity.

paired with a navy tank (pseudio) underneath and a wrap belt from ruche.

on the bottom: dark indigo jeggings from AE and taupe boots from aldo.

something fun for the office without being too dressy.
