It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

I put my tree on Sunday!! I can't believe my homemade ornaments (dried orange slices and gingerbread snowflakes) survived this past year! I packed them away, but was sure they would turn moldy. A few snowflakes got broken, but other than that....

I think it looks nice!

I got this Christmas quiz from Jana today, so instead of forwarding it to everyone, I'm going to post it here...

Christmas 2006

Welcome to the 2006 Holiday Edition of Getting to Know Your Friends! You know
the drill. Highlight, copy, and paste (not forward) and change my answers to
your answers. Be sure to send back to me. Enjoy!!

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? hot chocolate! I hate egg nog! Ick!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? My parents used to ask me every year if I wanted them to tell Santa to wrap the presents or not. It was different every year. I'm sure they appreciated the years where Santa didn't have to wrap.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Color when I was a kiddo, I'm liking white now.
4. Do you hang mistletoe? never have.
5. When do you put your decorations up? Usually a few weeks before Xmas, but put up mine this past Sunday.
6 What is your favourite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Turkey for shizzle!
7. Favourite Holiday memory as a child: getting my cricket doll (I still have her!)
8. When and how did you learn the truth aboout santa? When I found our presents hiding under the stairs. Sure, I was looking for presents....lol. I don't remember actually asking about him or being sad that my parents played Santa. Deep down I still believe in Him though. Christmas is magical.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? I get to open gifts from Jana (not this year though, b/c she's in Ottawa), I also open up my present from my grandparents (on my dad's side) after Church on Christmas Eve.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? lights first, then ribbon, then ornaments.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love falling snowflakes. Hate the cold, the nasty storms, and the slop on the roads.
12. Do you remember your favourite gift? My NKOTB sleeping bag!!! I wore that sucker out!
13. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Christmas eve is a big favorite of mine. Usually our tradition is to go shopping (crazy, I know! but so fun). Getting home, wrapping last minute gifts, getting ready. Heading to Jana's place to open presents, then back to my grandparents place where we eat some goodies, and after church we all open presents. The past few years I have been leaving my grandparents really late, then heading to Jamie's sisters place where they open presents, then we spend the night at Jamie's mom's house and he opens his presents there the next day. Then we head to my parents place to open gifts there. Crazy busy. So yea, Christmas Eve is a cool day. This year I have to work in a new routine because Jamie and I don't want to spend Xmas eve apart, so somehow I have to work in going to Church with his family and heading to his mom's place so she can open presents, PLUS all of the other regular stuff!! Yikes.
14. What is your favourite Holiday Dessert? Triffle
15. What is your favourite holiday tradition? xmas eve.
16. What tops your tree? a gold star.
17. Which do you prefer giving or Receiving? Giving. Love seeing people's reaction to their gift.
18. What is your favourite Christmas Song? Feliz Navidad
19. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Yum!

Random pics from Jamie's birthday...

Just bits of randomness from Jamie's birthday dinner. We went to Rodney & Lindsay's afterwards for some drinks and then later out to a bar.

No pics of me. Doesn't Jamie look oh so impressed about his cake? Mark being hardcore. Good times.

For me: Chicken Nachos!! Topped with lots of cheese, green peppers, onions, green onions, and tomatoes. Served with a side of salsa, jalapenos, and sour cream. YUM!

Bet you didn't know...

A crocodile can't stick its tongue out.

It is physically impossible for pigs to look up into the sky.

Horses can't vomit.

23% of all photocopier faults worldwide are caused by people sitting on them and photocopying their butts.

No piece of paper can be folded in half more than 7 times.

Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient at waking you up in the morning.

Most dust particles in your house are made from dead skin.

Turtles can breathe through their butts.

It's physically impossible for you to lick your elbow.

Over 75% of people who read this will try to lick their elbow.

No word in the English language rhymes with "MONTH."

Our eyes are always the same size from birth, but our nose and ears never stop growing. SCARY!!!

Americans on average eat 18 acres of pizza every day.

A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes.

Today was...

better than I expected.
Hope Anne-Marie was an adorable baby, loved seeing all of the cute pictures of her.

Gone for the day

Heading to Baby Hope's funeral in Fredericton today.
3 1/2 drive there and 3 1/2 hours back.
Gonna be a LONG day.
I promise a less depressing post when I get back later tonight.

Sweet Life

Life doesn't get any better.

Check out the Lee's.

Hudson is now home for the hospital.

Adorable huh??

Nov. 4th

My sorry picture of the day! Taken from my isight camera which is super bad quality.

It's project runway baby!!!!

So sad that I missed the third season of project runway.

I lost the Bravo channel, and didn't get the lifetime channel, so I was really screwed for my project runway fix.

Thankfully, we got a bell express view today, so I'm back with some cool channels. Yay for me!

I just spent the last hour watching one of the season 3 reruns.

Sweet!

So Funny!

Okay, this isn't Dane Cook, but a fan of his lip synching his material. So funny!

I love Dane Cook!

Picture of the day...

Might start doing a pic of the day. We'll see how that goes!

Here is my pic for Friday.

My new obsession: cream soda

A deadly obsession!

The can of cream soda was left over from Halloween treats, the Pop Shoppe soda was a gift from Mark when he went to Halifax two weeks ago, and the another cream soda Jamie picked up for me last night. YUM!

Gotta give another shout out to Pop Shoppe soda--so yummy, best taste ever!! If you can find it near you PICK SOME UP!

A few details on Jamie's morning...

-they got ready at Jamie's sisters house.
-lots of laughs, lots of champagne.
-most of it was caught on video (another awesome laugh)
-look closely in the last picture to see what was going on before they left for the church

the night before and morning of....

The night before the wedding was a big hectic.
Rehersal, getting together afterwards to pizza and catching up.
Running around to accomplish last minute things.
Somehow I managed to get to be before 11.
Jamie spent the night at his mom's, so Jana stayed with me.
I still don't know how we managed to climb into bed around 10:30 and as chatty as we usually are we were snoozing by 11.
We got up around 6 or 7.
Still shocked at the awesome sleep I got.
Wicked proud because I usually have the worst time falling asleep.
I think it was the fact that I was so content with marriage, I couldn't wait to marry Jamie.
The next morning was pretty crazy.
We had a hair stylist and make up chick come here to get us ready.
Realizing we'd need a table for the stylist to use, Jana and I went to take my scrapbook table out in the living room.
Removal of a door later, we had it all set up.
The girls started trickling in, we got our hair did.
Amy's mom came with some yummy goodies that were enjoyed by all.
Shelley was here snapping all the details.
When I was ready I threw on my dress, and some sunglasses and went out to pump some gas.
I'm soooo classy.
It was a good laugh---I wonder if those pictues came out, haven't seen them yet.
I gave the girls their gifts.
And Jana surprised me with one.
I was pretty much the modern bride, wasn't really into traditions.
But that did not stop her from giving me: something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
Something old: a vintage hanky (immediately stuffed into my dress)
Something new: white sunglasses (can be seen in some pictures)
Something borrowed: Her yummy escada perfume which I drenched myself in
Something blue: a vintage looking, blue mirrored compact.
So sweet of her.
Before I knew it, it was time to rush out to the church.....

She's a sweet baby angel

previous post can be found here http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=12007987&postID=115033886470122946

Baby Hope passed away tonight. :(

She had not been doing well, failing organs, etc. She was on life support and her parents decided it would be best to let her go.
