Bliss

My new camera arrived (finally) yesterday. I couldn't resist testing the waters! It's quite a bit different than my old one, so there is a bit of a learning curve there, but so far I am loving it! I will REALLY be testing the waters in two weeks when I do an engagement shoot and a wedding all in a few days! I'm excited and VERY nervous!

Speaking of photography....I have a little bit of NEWS!! My BFF Jana and I have decided to start our own photography business. She and I share the same intense passion for photography and have also always wanted to work together, so here is our chance! Jana currently lives in Ottawa (boo!), but is moving home in September (yay!) and we will embark on this new adventure!

Things are just starting off, but you can check us out on Flickr and also on our blog www.bliss-photos.blogspot.com. Hopefully, we can get our website up and going once we iron out all of our business details.

Holla! I'm back! (and feeling creative)

I can't believe I just said Holla...forgive me, it's wee early in the morning!!

I'm back!! Where did I go you ask? A sweet, sunny vacation?

That is wishful thinking.

As much as I love Apple...they sure do make some CRAPPY power cords!! About two weeks ago the power cord for my Macbook MELTED!!!! Apparently this is a problem with Mac power cords, but I didn't know that. And when I went online to order another (100$!!) power cord, I discovered it's lower rating and awful reviews, but what else could I do? Lets face it, I can't live without my computer!

I risked death and destruction to my home by rigging up my power cord (which was sprouting wires) so that I could still use the computer. It never kept power for very long though, hence my blog disapperance!

But it finally got delivered and all is well.

A few newbies and yuckies to report...

-Our washer got repaired yesterday (after 3 weeks of being sick)
-Our new plasma broke yesterday (what luck we have)

-my new camera arrives today!!!!

(yes I finally broke down and ordered a new one!!)

In celebration of that, yesterday I added some sugar and spice to my other canon camera strap...

Back splash? Who needs that?

Apparently we did!

Yet another purchase we didn't need, but we'll surely enjoy!!

Last Thursday Jamie and I ventured into the big city of Campbellton in search of tile for our powder room in the basement, which we would like to finish in the fall/winter. Our thinking is that we can buy a little something here and there each month to make the expense seem not as great.

As we are tile shopping we run across some fab tumbled marble tile. I love it of course, but Jamie LOVES it and it becomes his one focus in life...we need a back splash for the kitchen. So we take home a sample to test it out.

Meanwhile I don't really find any tile for the bathroom, so hey...why not go through with this whole back splash thing? We can enjoy it now as opposed to some tile, which will sit in the basement until the fall. It's no surprise that Friday night we headed back up to Campbellton to order our backsplash.

We got the 1x1 tumbled tile...I can't remember the color name...but it's a neutral stone color that matches pretty well with our light grey countertops. I love it because it's simple and sleek enough without being boring. You know me, I love simple and sleek furnishings!!

The tile should arrive in 10 days...so look forward to another epic tile post that hopefully has a positive ending (we are installing it ourselves!!)

P.S....we also got a great price on the same type of tile (except in ivory and in
6x6) so I think we may have found bathroom tile after all!!

Product of the Month....

My iPod Touch is absolute heaven compared to my four year old iPod Mini that I had. Did I need it? No. Do I love it? Tremendously!! It is amazing!! It's great for music first off, so when I'm going on my 6k walks it's a good companion. I love how it holds pics and they look GREAT!! It's nice to just be able to show people pics on there instead of logging on to facebook or lugging the laptop around. Other great features are the WiFi connection, so I can surf the net. Instant mail, calendar and the weather are more of my favorites.

All in all, a great purchase!!!

Funnily enough as soon as I buy one thing, I have plans to buy something more......next on the list finishing our basement bathroom and laundry room!

Oh....and a new camera and a trip to Ottawa....it never ends people!!!
