My Christmas Surprise...

Brought to you by my brother, the Canon fairy.

Seriously, the best brother ever! I knew he wouldn't be spending the same amount of money on Christmas this year because he is taking a leave of absence from work to attend school.

So, when he asked me what I wanted to Christmas I told him he could get me some Heidi Swapp foam stamps.

Christmas eve he came out with a box and threw it on my lap. The tag said "Now you have to be nice to me all year". Here I am totally confused. I shake the box, and it sounds like a ball. I open it up. Inside there is another box. At this point I'm laughing and saying that there is probably box inside of box and in the end I'll find a walnut or something.

I'm laughing along, thinking this is just a gag gift when I tear open the wrapping paper and see the Canon logo. I just about pooped my pants! I knew exactly what it was. Tears came to my eyes and I almost started to cry. I ripped off the paper and pulled out a Canon 75-300mm lense.

Totally blew me away.

I was trying to decide on which lense to get for Xmas and settled on the 50mm. I figured I would save up my birthday money to buy the 75-300.

I still can't believe that he went over and above on a Christmas gift for little old me.

And he is right, now I have to be super nice to him for ever and ever. Plus, he still bought me those Heidi Swapp stamps.

What a bro. Thanks Corey!

Santa is coming tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so excited!! And thankfully, I'm not sick! Woo!

I still believe in the magic of Christmas. I know there is no 'Santa' but there is a Santa in my heart. I love Christmas eve, just as much as Christmas day.

Today is going to be another long & busy day. Starting with Shopping, yes shopping. It's a weird twisted tradition for my family to go shopping on Christmas eve. I have 1 or 2 things left to get for Jana, a few stocking stuffers for Jamie, something for my mom, and my dad is working today so I guess I'll be picking up my mom's stocking stuffers too.

After that I still got more wrapping to do!! I thought I finished it up last night, but I have something for mom to wrap, and a bag of stuff for Jamie that I hid on him and almost completely forgot about it myself! That would not be good!!!

After the wrapping is completed I gotta get dressed up all pretty and head to Jana's house to exchange presents!!!! Another tradition. Hopefully, I'll get there around 6 or if not I'll have to wait until she gets back from church.

After Jana's it's off to my dad's parents where we always gather for Xmas eve. Most of the family comes, we eat (YUM), have some drinks, be merry, some of us go to church, then back there to open presents. I open a present from my grandparents. So it's about 11pm by this time and the night still isn't over!!

Jamie and his family are going to church at 11pm so after that I think we are going back to his sisters house where they will all be opening their gifts. And our night finally comes to rest at Jamie's mothers house where we will be spending the night. Whew!! Now that is a lot of traveling!!

Tomorrow, Jamie will open gifts at him mom's, and I will open my presents from him. My dad is working tomorrow so we are saving out gift opening until tomorrow night.

But, there is a canon lense sitting under the tree at my parents house and I am opening it tonight!! I need to take pictures right?? ;)

Have a great day everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And a Merry Christmas!

Do you think if I say it enough it will come true?

I feel like major turd butt this morning and all I want to do is crawl back in bed.

Lost in a sea of dust bunnies

Jamie's mom is coming over for supper tomorrow evening.

You know what that mean!! Jamie and I have been cleaning like mad around these parts. We spent the better part of the day cleaning yesterday and still have a bit more to do.

I got a new glade refill yesterday and the house just smells so warm & yummy, full of apple cinnamon. Yum.

Four days until Xmas and I'm still not ready!!! I wrapped a few gifts last night and I ran out of wrapping paper!!

Jana...you are the only one I have left to shop for...you are so tricky!

4 sleeps until Santa comes!

Just call me Martha!

I'm so excited for Christmas this year that anything I should be doing to prepare for Christmas has been shoved aside because I'm just too darned excited!

There was no way I could shove aside my awesome sugar cookies though!! And they were on the menu for tonight.

I spent three hours rolling, baking, and decorating!! I didn't make as many as I usually do, just 40 big kick ass cookies. Joining my cookie regulars of Snowmen & Angels, I made Snowflakes, flowers, and one lonely Xmas tree.

Get a load of my rockin' snowmen.

Melissa's pick...

If you are renting a movie this weekend, you have to rent the 40 year-old virgin.

Watched this last night and it was crazy funny. Steve Carell is awesome!! I love that dude!!

Two thumbs up for me!!

Doesn't this sound cool?

Remember those childhood days spent running in your bare feet, playing make-believe, and most of all, living life with wonderment? That youthful enthusiasm and playfulness are key to discovering who you are and what you love to do. Living Out Loud is the perfect prescription for a creative jump start to your life. Included are games, projects, activities, crafts, postcards, and playful ideas that will send you off on an exciting adventure, where you'll discover inspiration around and within you.

This book sounds so cool. It's definitely on my Xmas list!! I am going to look for it this weekend!

I have been searching for this book in Canada forever, and it's finally available at chapters.
Here is the Amazon link too.

Happy Holidays!

Count your change!

I cleaned out my closet the other day and was digging through some containers that have been stashed away since we moved from Fredericton.

I found two dishes of loose change in there. Which I added to another dish of change I had here and now I'm 64$ richer!! Woo!! I still didn't count my pennies, there's probably another 5$ or so there.

I love found money! That'll help on my shopping adventure next week!

It's coming together!

Started putting the tree together tonight. It's not quite finished. I need a new tree top and some ribbon or bows or something.

It is a little plain at the moment, just my gingerbread snowflakes & orange slices & clear mini lights, but it looks cute!

Here are some close ups of the ornaments!

I can sew!! Sorta...

Well, it took me over an hour yesterday to change the darn bobbin in my sewing machine. I finally got it working and tried sewing......

it appears I can't sew in a straing line, but that is okay right?? More artsy fartsy that way??

Here is my masterpiece.......

Handmade...

Finally started making my decorations last night. I wanted a different tree this year, something different from my hand me down decorations, so I decided to make my own.

Last night I made 36 gingerbread snowflakes. Aren't they pretty?? Tonight I'm going to dry a bunch of orange slices to hang from my tree.

I'd like to make some cranberry strings and do something with cinnamon too.

rejection bites

I apply & apply to manufacture dt's, but I get rejected and rejected.

Someday I'll learn my lesson and just stop applying.

Anyways, here are four of the projects that I sent in for my Provo Craft entry. I am leaving the layout out because I'm crazy and I'm submitting that to something else.

Save the Date People!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so on the ball with this whole wedding thing!

Here is what I have booked so far...

-ceremony site
-reception site
-dj
-wedding planner (flowers, decorations, cake)
-photographer

And my wedding dress is ordered!!

It feels good that I can finally say my official wedding date is.....September 2nd, 2006!!!!!

It's so real!!

Thanks Sam!!

A nice surpise in the mail today from Sam.

Thanks girl!! I LOVE IT!!

Wedding dress horror stories..

Another wedding nightmare, this time it was about my dress.

I mean my dress!! I can't have dreams about my dress. It's being made, I won't see it until March or May, I can't have dreams that it is going to come out totally different than what I know it is going to look like!

Last nights dream had me getting ready for the ceremony, and for some odd reason in all of my wedding dreams the wedding date just springs up on me. Like I wasn't expecting it to be that day or something.

So, I'm getting ready and I pull out my dress. It's white (whew) with pink & green roses. WTF?? I had a near heart attack, but I figured I could just pull off all the roses, which I started doing very quickly!

Finally I was rose free, but my dress still didn't look right. It was skinnier than I wanted. The material was super matte, it didn't bustel all that much and it was way too short. And I had ugly shoes.

I'm not sure what happened next, but I'm pretty sure I refused to go to the ceremony with that dress on.

These dreams are wearing me down! I'm going to have no wedding nerves left, lol.

grandfathers

Is there something in the grandpa gene that makes them have to give something away?

Everytime I got visit grandpere LaPointe, I can't leave empty handed. It could be a bottle of pop, some banana's, a pie, cash, or like tonight some cash & chocolates.

And if you don't take it he'll be mad. I swear this is a grandparent gene.

wedding stuff I like..

Photo of the Day

My lucky find from Saturday. I am obsessed with enamel and was on a search for an enamel basket for my bathroom. Instead, I found this!! A huge enamel bucket. ON CLEARANCE for 12.99$!! It is dented in the back, but you can't see it! I really have no idea what I am going to do with it. I doubt I'll actually keep detergent in it, lol, but it's cute, no?
