hello wednesday...

i like wednesdays...

i like climbing over that hump on the way to the weekend...

even though i don't have any plans (yet)

but tomorrow is trivia night at the pub, and jana and i are going there for date night

the theme is 90's, which i thought i knew a lot about, but who am i kiddin', all i did in the 90's was try (and succeed) to make out with boys.

we'll see how it plays out.

jana thinks studying is therefore cheating so we are going in with no preparation.

clearly, i've put too much thought into a fun-filled trivia night.

i finally wore an outfit worthwhile of posting this week, so here you go guys!

mamaSTYLE on the cheap...

dude, kids are pricey (big shocker).

between daycare (big chunk right there), clothes, diapers, food, etc etc money flies faster out of my bank account that it would after a good shopping spree.

it's a hard adjustment, especially with my love of shopping.

i'm (trying) to tone my spending down a bit...especially when i got news today that my tax return isn't so much of a return but a balance owing to the government (ouch!!!)

i am due to get my hair dyed again...oh, hello grey hair...so nice to see you....

but instead of going to the salon, i'm trying out some drug store hair color.

it could end up terrible, but since i'm not doing anything major, lets hope it turns out okay.

so far, i'm lovin' this brand, the application was a breeze.

i'll post and update tomorrow (since it's currently cooking on my head)

another discount buy is this lipstick

i've never bought lipstick before, so that's not really a super saver...but it was only 9$ and so far i'm loving it!

it's by rimmell and in a lovely nude shade

hello friends!

how was your weekend?

mine was awesome, with awesome sauce on top...

well, friday was anyways, because friday was date night!

girlie date night...

jana, ashley and i met up for supper, drinks and dancing

and laughing...

we laughed A LOT...i guess that is one of the best parts about date night with the girls.

you laugh more in a few hours than you do all through the week.

especially when you had a freaky waiter, and terrible drinks...and shirts that look like female body parts.

add in some intoxicated randoms and almost falling down the steps and you got yourself a hoot fest

but the grub was good, the company awesome and impressive vintage washrooms at this whole in the wall bar that we went to.

i regret taking more pictures....but it was definitely work the five hour of sleep that i got that night

can't wait to do it again!

kicking things off with this BAD photo of myself...can you believe this is PRE-workout?

i like my outfit...

this outfit might not seem like much, but i was really excited that i put it together.

a dress and a cardi that i've had for three months, but never paired them together.

and i get to wear this dress, which was at the back of my closet because i found it sort of dressy (it has rosettes on one shoulder)

last night, as i picking out my outfit for today, i was determined to put something together than i haven't paired before. this was the first thing i grabbed, and i was so excited i texted jana right away...then took a pic of myself and emailed her saying (yelling) LOOK HOW CUTE I AM!!

the only problem with this picture:

my hair and postpartum boobs...yuck

tomorrow, i'm taking 1/2 off work for some personal fun.

getting my nails done and hunting for some spring accessories, which will prove difficult given the lack of local shopping here. but it will be better than sitting at my desk at work

what's in my bag....

i finally have a purse, for the past year i have been going between old purses, avery's diaper bag, or just my pocket to hold things.

i really need a new one, it took me this long to finally get a new one, and i love it.

and it's big with out being 'old lady big' as jamie would say

i can fit lots inside and still have room to toss in a diaper and wipes for avery.

5 lip glosses (jana has me beat by 5, haha), thought bubble post it's, latest issue of lou lou, my iphone, a pen, stride mystery flavor gum, sunglasses for avery, vanilla bean noel hand sanitizing cream, my 12 week ultrasound pic from when i was pregnant with avery (i left it in my purse for so long after my appointment i became superstitious about taking it out before i gave birth...i'm still not ready to take it out), bird notepad and mini pen, a hair tie and frost mints.

just put my little beaner to bed, now it's time to get on the treadmill (droan) for an hour...

weekend recap...and how i dislike sundays

for some reason, i dislike sunday's...

if it has been a good weekend, i dislike that sunday signifies that the fun is over.

if it has been a sucky weekend, on sunday reflects that the weekend was full of blah, blah, and more blah.

this weekend was nothing to brag about, but a little busy, and i got to spend some time with my main squeeze saturday night sans kiddo.

friday i spent the evening parked on the couch.

watched alice in wonderland (good)

and hit the sack at 9:49 pm.

this mama was tired, and even though it was the weekend, i still had to get up early saturday morning.

side note: avery is usually a late(r) sleeper, but lately he has been waking at 7 am instead of 9 am. even though he has a dark curtain in his room, the sun still comes streaming through. half tempted to line his window with tinfoil so i can sleep in next weekend.

back to reality...that was my friday night. saturday was busy, we were up at 7:30 am to get ready and out of the house for 8:30 am because we had an appointment in bathurst at 10 and another at 11. we spent the rest of saturday running errands in bathurst and made it back home at 4:30 pm

mom and ella made the trip home with us. mom had agreed to watch both grand kids, even though she had to work on sunday.

that meant jamie and i got to escape to artisan brew pub for some drinks, laughs and really yummy kettle cooked chips.

today, it was my turn to wrangle two kiddos.

which pretty much gave me an insight of what my life with two children would be filled with

noise, mess and a lot of puke and poop.

oh yea.

this evening i am picking up the remnants of the day, doing laundry, and kicking back with the latest issue of lou lou.

i'm totally wiped.

it's not like this whole 'lose an hour of sleep' thing is new to me, i've only done it like, what, 30 times? but somehow this time around has thrown me for a loop.

i'd blame it on mamahood, but i don't remember it being this bad last year.

i was finally feeling into the groove of being a working mama, but the past two days just make me feel like life is droning on on repeat.

wake up way too early. get ready. get avery ready. go to daycare. go to work. 8 hrs of work. go to daycare. come home. cook supper. clean kitchen. put avery in the tub. wash high chair. clean poop out of tub. disinfect tub. wash bathroom. organize avery's room. change crib sheets. discard bubba containing curdled milk. mop floors. put baby to bed. get baby more milk. take crying baby out of crib. rock baby while he pinches my chest. put baby back to bed. fold laundry. turn on dryer. run on threadmill. empty dishwasher. fill dishwasher. run dishwasher. wash counters. write blog...and soon bed.

i'm tired.

what's happening....

monday's used to be my favorite day of week (weekends don't count).

most people hated monday's, but i liked them because it meant that i could do payroll, which at work is code for: if you want to get paid, leave me alone

now it's more like...i know you're doing payroll, but.....

i don't mind helping people out...but sooner or later after five minutes here and there, it's seven minutes before the end of my day and i still have payroll to transfer, plus type of six handwritten pages in french, which i neither speak, nor write.

guess who stayed an hour late today?

to help with a blah monday, i wasted, errrr cherished some time online to look at pretty things that i wish were in my possession right now (minus the purse, which i already own and love)

When the world slips you a Jeffrey, stroke the furry wall.

it's been AWHILE since jana and i have had a one on one girlie date

we managed to squeeze on in on friday night.

activities included:

dinner, pictureka (and jana's beginning of an iphone obsession), blueberry beer @ the brew pub,

movie (get him to the greek!!), popcorn, pictures, laughter, restaurant games...fun times!!!!

date night #2 in two weeks for trivia night!!

i'm excited.
